Frequently Asked Questions

If I am new to yoga, can I still take part in this challenge?

Absolutely! What a great way to start your yoga journey, create a new habit and improve your practise. There is a special introduction class the day before the challenge starts where the studio owner will take you through the flow of the class, show you where and how to set your mat up, where to stand and some of the key postures. We want you to feel comfortable when you start the challenge! :)

Do I need to change my diet for the challenge?

This depends on your current approach to meals and your own self-sabotaging habits! Most participants find it helpful to make changes to their diet and in the past some have decided to try going gluten free, sugar free and/or alcohol free for the period of the challenge to see what it feels like for them. We provide some helpful links to meal planning resources to help you in this space.

Which classes do I have to attend for my 3x classes each week?

You can attend any three classes you like, as long as they are HOT! This includes Hot Bikram or Hot Hiit Pilates. Check out the time table and attend the classes that best suit your schedule. Please note, you will see and feel greater benefits if you practise the 90 minute Hot Bikram classes over the 45 minute Hot Bikram class.

How many technique workshops should I attend?

There are 3 technique workshops scheduled during the period of the 6 week challenge. These are all optional and do not count towards the 3 hot classes per week. Workshop dates are in the “Dates” section above and are all 90 minutes long. Each workshop is different and we will cover all of the 26&2 poses in the Bikram series by the end of the 3 workshops. These workshops are spread out throughout the 6 weeks because your questions will change as your practice develops. You are encouraged to attend as many workshops as you can, attendance at all of them is included as part of your challenge fee. Those who do attend the workshops improve their technical capability more quickly than those who do not attend the workshops.

Do I need to book into the classes?

At this stage it is not essential for you to book yourself into classes. You can just turn up 15-20 mins before the start of the class that you’d like to attend. If you’d like to book a spot, then you can do this via Mindbody.

If I already have a pass or a direct debit membership, can I still do the challenge?

Absolutely! If you are on a weekly direct debit, we will increase it for the 6 week period to cover the additional aspects of the challenge. If you have a concession pass, you can pay the $350 (or set up a DD to pay $58 per week) and we will pause it for the 6 week period.

When will someone be in touch with me about the challenge?

If you have specific questions please get in touch via info@yippieyopi.co.nz or get in touch for the sign up information pack. On receipt of payment, you will receive a further information pack that includes everything you need to know.

What equipment do I need?

All you need is a mat, a towel to place over your mat and a drink bottle. You can hire a mat and a towel each time you visit for $2 each. You can purchase mats and mat-sized non-stick yoga towels at the studio.

What happens if I get sick during the 6 week challenge?

There is no official prize that challengers are competing to win, so there is a bit of flexibility with sickness. The goal is to complete the set challenge for your own personal satisfaction while setting yourself up with some great habits for your ongoing wellbeing. If you are sick and miss class or two one week, try and make your classes up the following week. There will be no extensions to the start or the end date.

Can I get a refund if I don’t finish or change my mind?

Please be sure of your commitment to this challenge, because once you have purchased this pass there are no refunds and no extensions for any reason.
